Stefan Panazan

I am a Fractional Chief AI Officer and independent adviser to CEOs, executive teams and boards, helping organisations make better decisions about AI strategy, investment, governance and execution. I bring 20+ years of enterprise technology experience and around a decade in applied AI, spanning data foundations, advanced analytics, machine learning, Generative AI and organisation-wide AI transformation. From 2020 to 2024, I was Head of Data Science & Analytics at Carrefour Romania, where I built and led the data science capability and managed an enterprise AI portfolio end-to-end — from opportunity identification and business case through architecture, PoC, production, integration and adoption. Initiatives included personalisation, demand forecasting, pricing, media-mix modelling, customer analytics and Generative AI products. Earlier, I held senior data and AI roles at IBM and Endava and worked across retail, banking, manufacturing, insurance, energy and other enterprise environments. Today, through AI Radar, I act as an independent AI seat at the executive table. I help leadership teams prioritise AI investments, pressure-test vendor claims, assess organisational maturity and risk, establish appropriate AI governance, and decide what to build, buy, redesign, postpone or stop. My approach is deliberately vendor-independent and business-led: AI is treated as a leadership, investment and operating-model question before it becomes a technology question.
